What do you think? Besides gaming and entertainment, what purposes can this technology serve? What real cool idea do you have that VR would be the perfect platform for?

Papa Wink

I'm going to be a Grandpa!!

Dion and Gryphon out for a walk

This past year my wife, Sara, and I, adopted a young Mother who was very much in need of someone to just help her out, give her and her daughter, Dion, a place to live for awhile, until she could get herself in a better position.

So about 7 months ago Brittany and Dion moved in with us. It wasn't long before Brittany found out that she was pregnant. Right now, Sara is in the hospital with Brittany and we expect little Olivia any minute now.

So, I am waiting and watching my "Grand-Daughter", Dion, as we wait for her new baby sister to arrive. As soon as I can I'll add a little pic to this POST.

Just wanted all my friends to know.

Please continue to work on your presentation of what's on a check, this should be completed today.

Warm-Up: Needs and Wants

What do You Want?
or What do You Need?
--Is there a difference?

Have you ever thought about what you would most like to buy when you begin to earn money? List three items at the top of your POST that you would most like to purchase right now.

At some stage in your life you will have to make decisions on how to manage your hard-earned income. You will have to balance your spending and income. This is called "budgeting".

Drawing up a budget will help you make decisions.

Open a NEW BLOG Post
Write a complete paragraph to explain the difference between a "need and a "want".

You will have a list of needs and wants. Create two lists in the same post that you used for your paragraph. Each should have at least the same number of rows of at least 8 rows. Make a list of your NEEDS and a list of your WANTS, grouping them under the two headings "Needs" and "Wants" Use a Bulleted or Numbered list.

Try to put the most important ones at the top of the lists!

Warm-UP: Family Budget

Developing a Personal of Family Budget

You’re Making Money!

Today we’re going to travel ahead in time about six years. Are you ready? Let’s go…

Congratulations! You’ve graduated from high school, and you’re ready to make it on your own in the real world. Of course, your first step is to get a job. The good news is, you don’t even have to interview. I’m going to give you a job you could get right out of high school. Every job includes a monthly salary. How much do you think you need to make to pay for all of your expenses?

In this lesson, we’re going to find out just how far that salary goes. In this unit you’re going to create a budget, or a plan for spending money.

The first step is to figure out your income, or the money coming in. But, for this warm-up we are going to figure out what we need to spend money on. These items are your expenses, or the things you spend your money on. What are some things you’ll spend money on when you’re on your own?

What You Need to Do:

  1. Use Google Sheets.
  2. Make a list of all the expenses that you think that you will have when on your own. Remember, you'll need: shelter, food, safety. But, those are our basic needs--what else goes on the list?
  3. On the column next to your list, use Google or other research tool, and find out what the average cost of that item might be if living in Boise, Idaho.

The items on this list are expenses, or things you spend your money on. Figuring out your expenses is the next step in setting up a budget. The challenge is to make sure your income, or the money you bring in, can cover the things you need, or your expenses.
